Classmates,

Brian was a classmate with good and negative elements.

One time I went to the music club in Tabor, Minnesota. Steve Hauges band was playing. The night the local girl died by physical elements in cold March evening while escaping Brian. Minnesota cold wet mud. No one can survive. When I was a small boy we had Texas migrants living on our farm property. Myself and playmate walked off edge of farm grass. Mexican father, Martin, had to rescue us from mud.

Yes, Brian was a bad boy. He taunted me on junior high football team.

Then when Brian needed help in Chemistry and Physics class he selected me to be his lab partner.

I went to see Brian in Crookston county jail when he got into trouble.

I applied to see Brian at Stillwater state prison. You will never forget the sound of motorized jail bars closing behind you.

Brian and I attended 10 and 20 year class reunions together. Brian loved everyone. Only today in 2024 people recogognize peoples behavioral health issues.

I rafted Apple River tubing with Brian, Kim Knoff, Jake, myself. I  do not want to brag!

Brian died too young while working as a remodeling carpenter at Kim Knoff house  in Des Moines, IA, home. Brian incurred diabetes and alcholism in his final years.

Brian was not evil.

Rodney, what a touching and compassionate story. Thank you so much for sharing. What happened that night in Tabor must've been quite a nightmare for Brian and for everyone. You are a good friend. I look forward to seeing you at our class reunion in September!
